Journalism Students Learned About the Importance of the "Reading Nation" Project
At the Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University, the importance of the "Reading Nation" (Kítap oqıtyn ult) project was explained to students of the "Kazakh Language, Literature, and Journalism" educational program.
During the meeting, Ualikhan Ibrayev, Vice-Rector for Social and Educational Affairs, emphasized the role of the national marathon in raising interest in reading books. According to him, regular reading is an essential skill that expands one's horizons and enhances professional expertise.
— "Reading books is one of the most effective tools for boosting intellectual potential. It is crucial to build a habit of reading daily, even if only for a short time. Consistency and willpower are what matter most. The reading habits formed today will pave the way to becoming a highly qualified professional tomorrow," the Vice-Rector stated.
Ayakoz Abdrazakova, a senior lecturer in the program, highlighted the importance of reading for future specialists. She noted that reading plays a key role for journalism students in developing critical thinking, enriching vocabulary, and raising professional literacy, encouraging them to join the ranks of avid young readers.
At the end of the event, students were encouraged to integrate reading into their daily lifestyle and actively participate in the marathon hosted under the "Reading Nation" project.
